Brian Androt

Brian androt is a visual artist based in villefranche-sur-mer. His work has a strong ecological dimension. He uses driftwood, collected from storm alex, along with wire mesh, reinforced concrete structures and other materials to create sculptures that are often figurative, such as the “bathers” exhibited at the plongeoir in nice. These works combine salvaged materials, acrylic paint, gold leaf for the details, with the aim of transforming elements “cast ashore by the sea” into aesthetic and meaningful pieces. His approach is characterised by a commitment to “non-destructive creation”. Another key aspect of his work lies in his sources of inspiration. He draws from the people he knows, as well as from local environments, flora and fauna, seeking to infuse a part of their essence into his sculptures. His projects go beyond mere decoration. They tell stories, evoke sensations and often engage in a dialogue with public space.
